Steps

  1. Dial *334#.
  2. Select Loans and Savings.
  3. Select M-Shwari.
  4. First-time users: accept terms and complete opt-in.
  5. Select Loan.
  6. Enter amount within your displayed limit.
  7. Review confirmation: principal, fee, total repayable, due date.
  8. Enter M-PESA PIN to confirm.

Check limit and balance

Same path, choose Check Balance or Loan Limit. Balance shows any current M-Shwari loan; limit shows what you can borrow now.

Repay via USSD

  1. Dial *334#.
  2. Loans and Savings > M-Shwari > Repay Loan.
  3. Enter amount and PIN.

What to check on-screen

  • Total repayable including statutory excise on the fee.
  • Due date (30 days from disbursement).
  • Product name confirming M-Shwari (not KCB M-PESA).

If declined
