When eCitizen is down, every government payment that routes through paybill 222222 (KRA PRN, NTSA, immigration, NHIF/SHA, university fees) is affected. The eCitizen platform handles most digital interactions with the Government of Kenya.

Is Safaricom Home Fibre down?

Safaricom Home Fibre outages affect Wi-Fi, IPTV, and bundled VOIP. The fibre backbone is separate from the Safaricom mobile network; one can be down while the other works. Self-check before calling support.

Airtel Kenya outages affect Airtel Money, mobile data, and calls/SMS. Airtel runs a separate network from Safaricom; an outage on one rarely affects the other. Check before assuming the issue is Kenya-wide.
