How to deposit to Betika

From M-PESA: Lipa na M-PESA → Pay Bill → 290290 → account = BETIKA or your Safaricom number → amount (min KES 50, max KES 70,000) → PIN → Confirm. Reflects in your Betika wallet within 1-5 minutes. Standard M-PESA paybill tariff applies (KES 0 on the 50-100 band, KES 5 on 101-500, rising to KES 105 at the upper bracket). Then a 5% deposit excise is deducted before money lands in the wallet — KES 100 deposited reaches the wallet as KES 95.

How to withdraw from Betika

Dial *644*1# on the Safaricom number registered to your Betika account. Choose Withdraw, enter the amount (min KES 200), confirm with your Betika PIN. The 5% withdrawal excise is deducted at this step. M-PESA withdrawal fees still apply when you cash out from your M-PESA wallet to an agent. If a withdrawal doesn't arrive within an hour, lead with the M-PESA transaction code when contacting support — that's the only field that lets them re-allocate.

Grand Jackpot odds (the math)

The Betika Grand Jackpot asks you to pick the outcome of 17 fixtures (1, X, or 2). The pool varies by week; KES 100M-400M is common. The single-jackpot probability depends on how skilled your picks are. Random guessing across three outcomes per game is 1/3¹⁷ ≈ 1 in 129 million. At 50% per-game skill, it's 1 in 2¹⁷ = 1 in 131,072. At expert 60% skill: 1 in ~16,900. Even at "skilled" 50%, you'd expect to win the jackpot roughly once every 2,500 years of weekly play. Fees and taxes (the corrected version)

Three layers of cost, all paid by the customer:

• M-PESA paybill tariff — KES 0 (free band 50-100), KES 5 (101-500), up to KES 105 at the upper bracket. See our M-PESA charges 2026 guide.
• 5% deposit excise (Finance Act 2025) — deducted before money lands in your Betika wallet.
• 5% withdrawal excise — deducted when you pay out back to M-PESA. This replaced the old 20% withholding on winnings.

When things break

The three failure modes that account for most support tickets:

• Deposit doesn't reflect (5 min+) — check the M-PESA SMS recipient name. If not "BETIKA KENYA", you paid a scam paybill; reverse via M-PESA reversal flow and report to Safaricom on 100. If the name is correct, contact Betika with the M-PESA code.
