Are Koro and Daviva loan apps licensed by CBK?

Yes, through the companies behind them. Neither app name is on CBK's list, because CBK lists companies, not apps. Here is which company runs each, and how to check it yourself.

Koro. Koro's terms of use say the service is provided by Zenka Digital Limited, and its referral terms call Koro "a Zenka Digital Limited brand". So Koro and the Zenka app come from the same lender. See is Zenka licensed by CBK and how to repay a Zenka loan.

Daviva. Daviva's website and its loan terms name Pesakuu Credit Limited as the company behind the app. Pesakuu Credit Limited is in CBK's directory.

Why the app names are not on CBK's list

CBK licenses companies, so its directory lists company names. It gives a trading name for only a few lenders, such as Inventure Mobile Limited trading as Tala. To check any app, find the company name in its terms or on its website, then look that name up. If an app will not tell you which company runs it, do not borrow.

Licensed does not mean cheap

A CBK licence means the lender is supervised on pricing disclosure, data and debt collection. It does not mean the loan is good value. Check the total you will repay in shillings before you accept, and compare it with the loan apps ranking, which compares every licensed lender on the same loan.

Frequently asked questions

Is Koro loan app regulated by CBK?

Yes, through its company. Koro's own terms say the app is run by Zenka Digital Limited, and Zenka Digital Limited is in CBK's Directory of Digital Credit Providers updated on 29 September 2026, first licensed on 27 March 2023.

Are Koro and Zenka the same?

They are the same company. Koro's website calls Koro "a Zenka Digital Limited brand", so Koro and the Zenka app are two apps from one licensed lender.

Is Daviva licensed in Kenya?

Yes, through its company. Daviva's website names Pesakuu Credit Limited as the company behind the app, and Pesakuu Credit Limited is in CBK's directory, first licensed on 1 October 2024.

Why can I not find Koro or Daviva on the CBK list?

CBK lists the licensed company, not the app, and gives trading names for only a few lenders. Search the company name instead: Zenka Digital for Koro, Pesakuu Credit for Daviva.
