How to check your UDA membership status (*509#)

  1. On your Safaricom line, dial *509#.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts. The USSD returns your current membership status.
  3. If active, you are eligible for member-only party activities (voting in grassroots elections, contesting under the UDA ticket for 2027 subject to nomination).
  4. If not registered, you are directed to members.uda.ke to complete registration.

USSD is the simplest option if you are away from a computer. Your Safaricom line must be the one registered under your national ID; if you dial from a friend’s phone, the response will reflect their status, not yours.

How to register at members.uda.ke

The online registration is straightforward. You will need:

  • Your national ID number.
  • Your registered Safaricom phone number.
  • A valid email address.
  • Your county, constituency, and ward (from your voter registration).

The portal will generate a member number once your registration is processed. Keep it; you may need it for grassroots-election voting and for aspirant applications later.

Grassroots elections (app.uda.ke/grassroot)

Grassroots elections are the internal party contests that elect party officials at branch, sub-branch, and county levels. Registration to participate goes through app.uda.ke/grassroot. Members can register to vote in grassroots elections; members with active status can also register to contest for grassroots positions.

Grassroots election calendars are set by the party. If you are unsure whether elections are currently open in your area, check the portal or the party’s official social channels.

2027 nominations (aspirants.uda.ke)

Aspirants seeking to contest under the UDA ticket in the 2027 general election register at aspirants.uda.ke. The portal handles:

  • Aspirant account creation.
  • Position selection (MCA, MP, Woman Rep, Senator, Governor, Presidential).
  • County / constituency / ward selection.
  • Fee information and payment instructions (fee is disclosed inside the portal, not on the public homepage).
  • Document submission (ID, party membership confirmation, other required documents).

Because UDA’s aspirant fees are inside the portal rather than on the public site, we cannot publish a fee table here without inventing one. Verify current fees by registering as an aspirant, or contact the party directly. For a comparison of published fee schedules across parties, see the nomination fees across Kenyan parties 2027 guide.

The honest note on UDA donations

UDA does not publish a public donation paybill on any of the four official channels above as of August 2026. That is a fact, not a criticism; a party can perfectly reasonably decline to run a general retail donations paybill. But it means:

  • Any paybill forwarded on WhatsApp claiming to be “UDA donations” is unverified.
  • Aspirant-level fundraising (an MCA or MP aspirant collecting for their personal campaign) is not the same as donating to the national party.
  • If you want to donate to UDA specifically at national level, contact the party directly at 020 2020405 or hello@uda.ke and ask for the current channel in writing.

If UDA publishes a public donation paybill, we will update the Kenya 2027 elections hub and this guide within 24 hours of verification.
