This guide covers what is verified, what is not, and where the honest gaps are. If a party is listed as “not publicly published,” it means we could not find a paybill on its official pages as of August 2026, so we do not fabricate one. Every number below is either on the party’s own site or in a dated public notice (People Daily, 25 July 2026 for DCP).

What you actually need before donating

  • The paybill number, typed by you from the party’s own site, not from a screenshot.
  • The correct account format: some parties use your own phone number as the account; others use a fixed account number.
  • An amount you are comfortable losing. Political donations in Kenya are not refundable and not tax-deductible.
  • Your M-PESA PIN, and the mental discipline to check the merchant name in the STK prompt before you press enter.

ODM (Orange Democratic Movement), paybill 985900

ODM publishes a general donations paybill on odm.co.ke/donate. Paybill 985900, account = your own Safaricom phone number. The party’s headquarters are at Chungwa House, Loiyangalani Drive off Convent Road, Nairobi. Contact 020-5249622 or donations@odm.ke. The historic party leader is Raila Odinga; verify current leadership on the official site before making assumptions in an election year.

The M-PESA flow: Pay Bill, 985900, your phone number, amount, PIN. The STK prompt should show the recipient name associated with ODM before you confirm. If it does not, cancel.

Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi, paybill 3033049

Linda Mwananchi is a civic mobilisation platform led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna. It is not a registered political party under the Political Parties Act, which is why the paybill is registered under “E Sifuna” (his official name) rather than under a party. Paybill 3033049, account = your own Safaricom phone number. Verified against lindamwananchi.com/donate and the movement’s official X account.

Sifuna has publicly disclosed rolling fundraising totals: KES 519,144 from 9,419 contributors in the first 12 hours; KES 2.21M in the first 36 hours; over KES 6.5M cumulatively. Safaricom briefly deactivated the paybill in late July 2026 before restoring it after public pressure. The movement’s visibility has attracted lookalike scam paybills — only 3033049 is verified. Full history, source chain and step-by-step donation flow are in the Sifuna Linda Mwananchi paybill 3033049 guide.

DCP (Democracy for the Citizens Party), paybill 247247, account 254829

DCP, led by Rigathi Gachagua, published a formal nomination fee notice on 24 July 2026 (reported in People Daily, 25 July 2026). Payment channel: M-PESA paybill 247247(this is Equity Bank’s paybill number), account 254829 (this is DCP’s fixed account under Equity’s paybill).

Two things to be careful of. First, paybill 247247 is Equity Bank’s aggregator paybill; many different Equity customers route through it, so the account number decides who actually receives the money. Get 254829 exactly right. Second, this paybill is currently being used for nomination fees specifically; if DCP later publishes a separate general-donations paybill, verify before repurposing 247247 for anything other than nomination.

Full fee table (MCA KES 5,000, MP / Woman Rep / Senator KES 10,000, Governor KES 50,000, with 50 percent reductions for youth and PWD applicants) and the aspirant submission process are in the DCP nomination fees 2027 guide.

David Maraga 2027 campaign, via MookPay

The Maraga 2027 campaign runs donations through donations.davidmaraga.com. The site does not expose a direct M-PESA paybill number, because M-Pesa payments are routed through a payment processor called MookPay. Card payments go through Stripe. PayPal is also supported. A “Direct Paybill” option appears on the site as well; verify which paybill number that resolves to at the point of donation.

Suggested amounts on the page: KES 50, 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000. Campaign HQ 82 Westlands Road, Nairobi. Tel +254 746 900 027. Email donations@davidmaraga.com. Twitter @TeamMaraga and @dkmaraga. Slogan: “Reset. Restore. Rebuild.”

Practical note: as of August 2026 the campaign’s public tracker shows a placeholder amount and early-stage totals. Do not treat any figure floating around WhatsApp as authoritative unless it comes from the campaign’s own communications.

UDA, no public donation paybill

UDA (William Ruto’s party) does not publish a public donation paybill on uda.ke as of the date of this guide. Its public channels are:

  • *509#: check your UDA membership status on your Safaricom line.
  • members.uda.ke: online membership registration.
  • app.uda.ke/grassroot: grassroots elections registration.
  • aspirants.uda.ke: nomination applications for 2027.

HQ: Hustler Plaza, Ngong Road, Nairobi. Tel 020 2020405. Email hello@uda.ke. If someone forwards you a “UDA donation paybill,” treat it as unverified until UDA’s official site or an official UDA social account publishes it. Full breakdown in the UDA membership guide.

Jubilee Party, no public paybill

As of August 2026, Jubilee Party has not published a donations paybill on jubileeparty.or.ke. The right thing to do here is not fabricate a number. If you want to donate to Jubilee, contact the party directly through its official site and confirm the paybill in writing before paying. Any Jubilee paybill circulating on WhatsApp without an official source is unverified.

The scam-paybill patterns that reappear every election

Kenyan election cycles reliably produce a fresh wave of fake donation paybills. The patterns are consistent enough that if you have seen them before, you will recognise them again:

  1. One-digit-off paybills: real party paybill is 985900; fake is 985090 or 985990. Mapped to a random merchant that pockets the money.
  2. Look-alike party names: “ODM Kenya Campaign”, “Team Raila 2027”, “Gachagua Support Fund”. Not the actual party paybill.
  3. Aspirant campaigns branded as party: a specific MCA or MP aspirant’s personal M-PESA number circulated as if it were the national party donation channel. Might be legitimate for that aspirant, but it is not a party donation.
  4. Poster or QR code: a poster on Twitter or WhatsApp with a QR code that resolves to a Buy Goods till number, not to the party’s known paybill.

KRA and record-keeping

Political donations in Kenya are not tax-deductible. Do not accept receipts that claim otherwise; anyone offering “donate to save on tax” for a political cause in Kenya is either mistaken or dishonest. That said, keep records if you donate at scale:

  • M-PESA transactions above roughly KES 200,000 are flagged in Safaricom’s reporting stream to the Financial Reporting Centre under anti-money-laundering rules.
  • Bank inflows above KES 1M in a month are reportable by Kenyan banks under Central Bank of Kenya rules.
  • Corporate donations of any material size are audit-relevant and should be documented in board minutes or approval memos.

If you are a business donating, take formal internal approval before the transfer. If you are an individual donating a large amount, keep the M-PESA SMS and any acknowledgement you receive from the party, so that if the amount later surfaces in an audit you can source it cleanly.

If your donation does not reach the party

  1. Check the M-PESA SMS. The recipient name should match the party you tried to pay.
  2. If it does not match, begin a reversal via *456# (or forward the SMS to 456) within 7 days.
  3. If the recipient name is correct but the party has not acknowledged, contact them via the phone or email on their official website, with your M-PESA transaction code in the message.
  4. For DCP nomination payments specifically, the party requires the transaction confirmation as part of aspirant registration anyway, so keep the SMS.

FAQ

What is the ODM donation paybill in 2026?

ODM (Orange Democratic Movement) uses M-PESA paybill 985900 as the general donations paybill. The account number is your own Safaricom phone number. This is confirmed on the official ODM donations page at odm.co.ke/donate.

What is the Linda Mwananchi paybill?

Linda Mwananchi (a civic mobilisation platform, not a registered party) uses M-PESA paybill 3033049. The account is your own Safaricom phone number. Verified on lindamwananchi.com/donate.

How do I pay DCP (Gachagua) via M-PESA?

DCP nomination payments use paybill 247247 (Equity Bank's paybill) with the fixed account number 254829. This is the DCP account under Equity Bank. Do not enter your own number as the account. Fee schedule and process are in the DCP nomination fees 2027 guide.

Is there a public paybill for donating to UDA?

Not that we can verify from official UDA channels. UDA's public flows are membership (dial *509# to check status, or register at members.uda.ke) and party contact (020 2020405, hello@uda.ke). If someone forwards a UDA donation paybill on WhatsApp, verify with UDA directly before paying.

How do I donate to David Maraga's 2027 campaign?

Through the campaign page at donations.davidmaraga.com. The site processes M-Pesa via a payment processor called MookPay rather than exposing a direct paybill number. It also accepts Stripe card payments, PayPal, and a "Direct Paybill" option displayed on the site. Suggested amounts range from KES 50 to KES 10,000.

Is there a Jubilee Party donation paybill?

Not publicly published as of August 2026. Do not trust a Jubilee paybill forwarded on WhatsApp. Verify directly with the party at jubileeparty.or.ke before sending money.

Are political donations tax-deductible in Kenya?

No. Unlike some other jurisdictions, Kenya does not offer income-tax relief for donations to political parties or campaigns. If someone tells you otherwise for the sake of a receipt, they are wrong.

What triggers KRA scrutiny on political donations?

Individual donations well below KES 100,000 are routine. Above roughly KES 200,000 in a single M-PESA transaction, Safaricom flags the movement in its reporting to the Financial Reporting Centre. Bank inflows above KES 1M in a month are similarly reported. Corporate donations at any material scale are audit-relevant. Keep records: M-PESA SMS, party acknowledgement, and any receipt.

What if my party donation does not reflect?

Save the M-PESA transaction code from the SMS. Confirm the recipient name in the SMS matches the party you intended to donate to. If it does not, you probably paid a scam paybill: begin a reversal via *456# (or forward the M-PESA SMS to 456) within 7 days. If the recipient name is correct, contact the party using the phone or email on their official site with the transaction code, and they can confirm receipt.
