DCP (Rigathi Gachagua) was the first of the newer 2027 parties to publish a full nomination fee schedule. Payment goes via M-PESA paybill 247247 (Equity Bank’s paybill), account 254829.

A few things worth saying plainly. First, not every party lists a paybill because not every party wants small retail donations; some rely on aspirant fees and a small number of large patrons instead. Second, some “party” paybills you will see forwarded are actually aspirant campaigns, county-level fundraisers, or civic platforms. That is not automatically wrong, but it is not the same as donating to the party itself. Third, Kenyan political donations are not tax-deductible; do not let anyone tell you otherwise for the sake of a receipt.

Which Kenyan political parties have verified M-PESA paybills for donations in 2026?
As of August 2026: ODM uses paybill 985900 (account = your phone number). Linda Mwananchi uses 3033049 (account = your phone number). DCP uses paybill 247247 with fixed account 254829 for nomination fees, this is Equity Bank's paybill routed to DCP. UDA, Jubilee and the Maraga campaign do not publish a direct donation paybill on their public pages; UDA runs membership through *509# and members.uda.ke, and Maraga's site processes M-Pesa through MookPay.
Is it safe to donate to a political party via a WhatsApp-forwarded paybill?
No. Before every election cycle, fake paybills that look one digit off from the real ones circulate on WhatsApp and Facebook. Always type the paybill number yourself from an official party page, and check the merchant name in the M-PESA STK prompt before entering your PIN. If the name does not match the party you intend to donate to, cancel and re-enter.
What are the 2027 DCP nomination fees?
DCP's notice dated 24 July 2026 sets these fees: MCA KES 5,000 (KES 2,500 for youth or PWD), MP / Woman Rep / Senator KES 10,000 (KES 5,000 for youth or PWD), Governor KES 50,000 (KES 25,000 for youth or PWD). Payment via M-PESA paybill 247247, account 254829. After paying, applicants submit their M-PESA transaction confirmation with full name, ID, phone, county, constituency, ward, and intended position.
Do political donations attract KRA tax scrutiny?
Individual donations below KES 100,000 are generally routine. Above that threshold, banks and Safaricom flag transactions under anti-money-laundering rules and share data with the Financial Reporting Centre and KRA. Political donations are not tax-deductible in Kenya (unlike some jurisdictions), so donors cannot claim relief. Keep M-PESA receipts if you are a business donor; large corporate contributions are audit-relevant.
Does UDA have a public donation paybill?
Not that we can verify. UDA's public channels focus on membership (*509# status check, members.uda.ke registration, app.uda.ke/grassroot for grassroots elections, aspirants.uda.ke for nomination applications) and party contact (020 2020405, hello@uda.ke, Hustler Plaza, Ngong Road). If someone forwards you a UDA donation paybill, verify it with the party directly before paying.
How do I donate to David Maraga's 2027 campaign?
Through donations.davidmaraga.com. The site processes M-Pesa via the MookPay payment gateway (rather than exposing a direct paybill), and also accepts Stripe card payments, PayPal, and a "Direct Paybill" option displayed on the page. Where do I check if a Kenyan political party is officially registered?
The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) at orpp.or.ke maintains the register of fully registered political parties in Kenya. Any party asking for money should either be on that register or clearly identify itself as a civic platform, aspirant campaign, or independent movement rather than a registered party.
What if my party donation does not reflect?
Save the M-PESA transaction code, confirm the recipient name in the SMS matches the party you intended to pay, and contact the party via the email or phone number on their official website. For DCP nomination fees, the party requires the transaction confirmation as part of the registration submission anyway, so keep the SMS.
