The campaign page
The Maraga 2027 campaign runs donations at donations.davidmaraga.com. The campaign slogan, prominent across the page and the campaign’s social channels, is “Reset. Restore. Rebuild.” The site itself is straightforward: a headline, a donations widget, a contact block, and social links.
Official social channels: @TeamMaraga and @dkmaraga on Twitter/X. Cross-check anything you see forwarded on WhatsApp against these accounts before acting on it.
How to donate, step by step
- Open donations.davidmaraga.com in your browser. Type the URL yourself; do not follow WhatsApp links.
- Choose a suggested amount (KES 50, 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000) or enter a custom amount.
- Choose a payment method: M-Pesa, Stripe (card), PayPal, or Direct Paybill.
- Follow the prompts. For M-Pesa, you will typically receive an STK push on your Safaricom line and confirm with your M-Pesa PIN.
- Save the confirmation message (M-Pesa SMS, Stripe receipt email, PayPal transaction ID) as your record.
Why the M-Pesa flow uses MookPay (and what that means)
MookPay is a Kenyan payment processor that lets websites accept M-Pesa without each merchant setting up their own paybill or till. When you pay via M-Pesa on donations.davidmaraga.com, the request goes to MookPay, MookPay talks to Safaricom on your behalf, and the eventual settlement lands in the campaign’s bank account through MookPay’s system.
Practical implications:
- You will not see “DAVID MARAGA” as the recipient in the M-Pesa STK prompt in the same way you would with a direct paybill. You may see MookPay’s merchant name instead.
- Because MookPay is an aggregator, the specific paybill number may be MookPay’s own paybill rather than a dedicated campaign paybill. This is normal for aggregator-processed donations.
- Your receipt (the M-Pesa SMS) is still your proof of payment. Save it.
- If the campaign later switches to a direct paybill, they will announce it on donations.davidmaraga.com and via @TeamMaraga.
Stripe (card) and PayPal
Stripe is the standard card processor globally; a Stripe payment on the campaign page is essentially a normal card transaction, with the settlement going to the campaign. PayPal works the same way for donors with PayPal accounts. Both are useful for diaspora donors who cannot conveniently pay via M-Pesa from abroad.
Card payments carry a small processor fee (typically 2.5 to 3 percent) which reduces the amount the campaign receives. PayPal fees are similar. If you are in Kenya and can pay via M-Pesa, that is usually the most efficient option.

Honest notes on the campaign donations page
As of August 2026 the donations page shows a total-raised figure that is still at an early-stage placeholder. That is normal for a campaign that publishes early and updates as contributions come in. Do not read too much into an early low total; do not read too much into any figure floating on WhatsApp either. The authoritative number is whatever is on donations.davidmaraga.com at the moment you check.
A second honest note: donating to a presidential campaign is a political act, not an investment. You do not get a return. The campaign is not tax-deductible in Kenya. Give what you are comfortable giving as a citizen; treat any framing that positions donations as a “way to make money later” with strong scepticism.
Scam vectors specific to campaign donations
- Fake domains: donations-davidmaraga.com (with a hyphen) or maraga2027.co.ke or teammaraga.net. Only donations.davidmaraga.com is the campaign site.
- WhatsApp forwards with a random paybill claiming to be from Maraga. The real M-Pesa flow goes through the on-site widget, not through a paybill forwarded in a group chat.
- Impersonation calls from “campaign staff” asking for a mobile-money transfer to a personal number. The campaign does not collect donations by cold call.
- Fake “matching donation” promotions offering to double your gift. If such a promotion exists it will be on donations.davidmaraga.com or announced by @TeamMaraga, not by a stranger in your DMs.
FAQ
What is David Maraga's campaign donation page?
donations.davidmaraga.com. The campaign slogan is "Reset. Restore. Rebuild." Campaign HQ is 82 Westlands Road, Nairobi. Phone +254 746 900 027, email donations@davidmaraga.com.
Does Maraga have a direct M-Pesa paybill?
The public donations page does not expose a single direct M-Pesa paybill number the way ODM (985900) or Linda Mwananchi (3033049) do. M-Pesa payments are processed through a gateway called MookPay, which handles the connection to Safaricom. A "Direct Paybill" option is also displayed on the site; verify the specific paybill number it resolves to at the time of donation, because integrator paybills can change.
What payment methods does the campaign accept?
Four channels: M-Pesa (routed through MookPay), Stripe (credit or debit card), PayPal, and a Direct Paybill option shown on the page. All four flow into the campaign account.
What are the suggested donation amounts?
The page shows suggested amounts of KES 50, 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, and 10,000. Donors can also enter a custom amount. These are suggestions, not requirements.
Is the campaign tax-deductible?
No. Political donations in Kenya, including to a presidential campaign, are not tax-deductible. Anyone offering a "tax receipt" for donating to a Kenyan campaign is either mistaken or dishonest.
How do I contact the campaign directly?
Phone +254 746 900 027, email donations@davidmaraga.com, physical office 82 Westlands Road, Nairobi. On Twitter/X, the official accounts are @TeamMaraga and @dkmaraga.
What if my M-Pesa payment does not reflect on the campaign tracker?
Save the M-Pesa transaction code from your SMS. Because M-Pesa payments route through MookPay, allocation to the campaign's internal tracker may take a few minutes. If it does not reflect within a reasonable window, contact donations@davidmaraga.com with the transaction code.
Is there a public running total of amount raised?
The site shows a total-raised figure that is updated as the campaign progresses. As of August 2026 the figure was still at an early-stage placeholder. Do not treat any raised-amount figure floating on WhatsApp as authoritative unless it comes from the campaign directly.
