Step 3: allocation
When a project is finished, Boma Yangu notifies registered members that allocation has started. According to the portal, who gets a unit first depends on when you reached the deposit, your family status and other social factors, and demand for each type of unit. Those who miss out go on a waiting list.
Getting your savings back
Boma Yangu says refunds of savings follow the housing fund regulations and are requested through the portal. Check the current conditions there before you apply.
Boma Yangu and the housing levy
The Affordable Housing Levy is separate: 1.5% from employees and 1.5% from employers, collected by KRA and paid through eCitizen (KRA notice). It is a separate deduction from the savings you make on Boma Yangu. Work out your deduction with the housing levy calculator.
