Airtel Money currently gives 50% cashback on transaction fees into a Bonus Wallet, as of 30 August 2026. Plus 25% extra airtime on every Airtel airtime buy (valid 24 hours).
50% cashback into the Bonus Wallet
On qualifying transactions, the fee you pay is partially refunded into a separate Bonus Wallet at a 50% rate. Example: if you pay a cross-network fee of KES 108 on a large transfer, KES 54 lands in your Bonus Wallet.
Rules to know:
- Bonus Wallet is separate. It shows a distinct balance, not your main Airtel Money balance.
- Not cashable. Bonus funds cannot be withdrawn at an agent. They can only be used for further Airtel Money transactions (send, paybill, buy goods, airtime, data).
- Qualifying categories can change. Airtel publishes the current qualifying transaction types on airtel.africa/ke/money and updates them.
- Expiry. Bonus balances typically expire within a promotional window (commonly 7 to 30 days). Use them before expiry.
How to check your Bonus Wallet

25% airtime bonus
Buy airtime from your Airtel Money wallet and you receive 25% extra airtime valid 24 hours. The bonus applies whether you buy for yourself or for another Airtel number. No promo code, no opt-in.
