Airtel Money is Airtel Kenya's mobile wallet. You run it from one code — *334# — or from the My Airtel app. Send to any network, pay any paybill or till (including M-PESA), withdraw at an agent, buy airtime and bundles, move money to and from your bank, and reach services like the Hustler Fund. Airtel-to-Airtel is free, cross-network and withdrawal fees are priced to undercut the market, and Airtel Money Kenya is CBK-authorised as a full mobile-money PSP.

How to register for Airtel Money
Registration is free. Visit your nearest Airtel shop or Airtel Money agent, fill in the customer registration form, and present your original ID — a Kenyan National ID, valid Passport, Military ID, or Alien ID. You will receive a confirmation SMS. Then dial *334# to set your 4-digit Airtel Money PIN and choose a security question. Paying a Lipa na M-PESA Buy Goods till from Airtel Money is free to the customer.

Move money between your bank and Airtel Money
Airtel Money links to banks both ways. You can pull money from your bank into Airtel Money and send from Airtel Money to a bank account through the Bank option on *334# or in the My Airtel app. In 2026 Airtel Money and KCB linked their systems, so Airtel Money users can pay KCB Lipa na KCB merchants directly through a dedicated paybill — no need to move money between wallets first. The charges are Airtel's and are the same whichever bank you use, but the two directions are not the same price. Pulling KES 50,000 in from a bank costs KES 10. Sending the same KES 50,000 out to a bank costs KES 105. Both are free up to KES 100. Each guide below carries the full table.

Receive international money on Airtel Money
Airtel Money can receive money sent from abroad straight into the wallet through Airtel's international-money-transfer partners. Airtel Money Kenya sends out to Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, and not to Uganda, which is the one almost everybody assumes. You can fund a licensed betting account from Airtel Money the same way you pay any bill. For Betika, on your Airtel line choose Make Payments → Paybill and either enter the business name BETIKA or use paybill 290290 with your phone number as the account, then the amount and your PIN. Other operators have their own paybills — always confirm the paybill directly with the operator before depositing, and never share your PIN.

For help, call Airtel on 100 from your Airtel line, or visit any Airtel shop. Airtel's official customer-care number is 0733 100 000, and that is the only number care will ever call you from. Airtel will never ask for your Airtel Money PIN. If anyone calls or texts asking for your PIN — or claiming you have won something and must pay to release it — it's a scam. Hang up. Never enter your PIN except on the *334# menu or in the app when you are the one starting a transaction.
