What is in the bundle
LOOP lists six parts on its LOOP BIZ+ page:
- LOOP Till. A QR code customers scan to pay with LOOP, M-PESA or Airtel Money. No hardware to buy.
- LOOP BIZ PDQ. A card machine for Visa, Mastercard, contactless and mobile money. LOOP says it settles to any bank account in Kenya, so you keep your bank.
- LOOP BIZ Inventory. Stock tracking and restock alerts. LOOP's Till page still marks it "Coming Soon".
- Sales dashboard. Revenue by product, branch or channel.
- Working capital. An overdraft, a quick loan and a term loan, all assessed from your sales through LOOP.
- LOOP Discover. A free listing for your deals in the LOOP app, which LOOP says reaches more than 500,000 shoppers.
The three business loans
| Amount | Term | Published fee | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overdraft | KES 1,000 to 500,000 | Renewed monthly | 2% of the amount drawn, plus interest from a base rate of 15.9% a year |
| Quick loan | KES 1,000 to 500,000 | 1, 5, 10, 20 or 30 days | 6% to 8% facility fee; the same again to roll over |
| Term loan | Up to KES 3,000,000 | 3 to 36 months | Not confirmed for merchants (see below) |
Limits and terms are from LOOP BIZ Loans; fees are from the LOOP tariff guide dated September 2026. VAT and excise duty go on top where they apply. Every loan is subject to approval, and LOOP assesses a merchant automatically once it has 90 days of payments to look at.
The tariff guide has one quick loan row, not a separate one for merchants, and its term loan row is labelled "Term Loan, LOOP FLEX" (a 4% facility fee and 0.7% insurance). It does not say the merchant term loan costs the same, so ask LOOP for the fee in writing before you sign.
Other fees LOOP has published
- Ledger fee: KES 300 on LOOP BIZ merchant accounts. The guide does not say whether that is monthly or yearly.
- Mobile money on the card machine: 0.5% of the payment when the customer pays by an STK push (the PIN prompt on their phone). A KES 1,000 payment costs you KES 5.
LOOP has not published the price or rental of the card machine, or the fee on card payments. Ask for both, and for how often the ledger fee is charged, before you sign up.
How it compares with the M-PESA Taasi till loan
Safaricom already lends against tills. Its Taasi Till Loan, with Asante, also needs 90 days of till activity, and lends KES 100 to KES 200,000 for 1, 7 or 21 days. Its access fee is 0.48% for a day, 3.12% for 7 days and 9.12% for 21 days.
- For a few days, Taasi is cheaper: 3.12% for a week against LOOP's 6% to 8%.
- For a full month, LOOP's 6% to 8% for 30 days beats Taasi's 9.12% for 21 days.
- For more than KES 200,000, or longer than a month, only LOOP offers it, through the overdraft or term loan.
For what M-PESA's own till loans and overdraft cost, use the Taasi calculator.
