Quick Loan
Open the LOOP app, go to Grow, tap 30-Day Loan and apply. LOOP says there is no paperwork. You borrow from KSh 2,000 to KSh 100,000 and repay within 30 days.
On a KSh 10,000 Quick Loan, a 6% to 8% facility fee is KSh 600 to KSh 800 before tax (our arithmetic on LOOP's published range). Rolling the loan over adds the same fee again, so clear it inside the 30 days if you can.
Overdraft
The LOOP Overdraft tops up your account when your balance runs short, up to a potential limit of KSh 100,000, and you repay within 30 days by depositing money into the account. The tariff guide lists a facility fee of 2% of the amount disbursed, so using KSh 10,000 costs KSh 200 in facility fee before tax, plus interest for the days it is out.
Term Loan
The personal LOOP Term Loan goes up to KSh 300,000, applied for in the app, with monthly repayments over up to 36 months. Fees from the tariff guide: a 4% facility fee and 0.7% insurance, both on the amount disbursed. On KSh 100,000 that is KSh 4,000 plus KSh 700 before tax, plus interest. LOOP says better loans come with more deposits and transactions on LOOP and a good credit history.
LOOP FLEX
LOOP FLEX is buy now, pay later at LOOP's partner merchants. You activate it in the app under Grow, then pay with your FLEX limit at a partner shop and repay in instalments you set. The tariff guide prices it like the Term Loan: 4% facility fee, 0.7% insurance and risk-based interest.
How to get a higher limit
- Keep money in your LOOP account and add deposits regularly.
- Make your payments through LOOP.
- Repay on time and keep a good credit score and history.
To deposit from M-PESA, use the LOOP paybill on our LOOP paybill page, which shows the account format and the name you should see on the M-PESA screen.
Is LOOP cheaper than other mobile loans?
LOOP does not publish a single rate for every borrower, because pricing is risk based. Compare the total it shows you in the app with the published costs on the best loan apps list, and for larger amounts with average bank lending rates from CBK.
