How do I repay HELB?
HELB's repayment page sends borrowers through the eCitizen gateway: dial *642#, log in, choose Loan Repayment, then M-PESA, and confirm with your PIN. Paybill 200800 with your ID number as the account also reached HELB when we tested it on 19 October 2026.
When does HELB repayment start?
HELB says undergraduate loan repayment starts within one year of completing your studies, or earlier if the Board recalls the loan. You can make voluntary payments before then to reduce the balance.

Is there a HELB penalty waiver?
HELB's repayment page promotes its Ndoto Zetu, Jukumu Letu loan recovery campaign, with up to 80% discount on penalties for borrowers who agree a payment plan.
