You can also pay on the official NairobiPay portal at nairobiservices.go.ke, by card or Pesalink. There is no paybill number to key in, Nairobi uses a prompt, so ignore any site that tells you to key a paybill. The old *235# code is no longer used, it was replaced by *647#.

Nairobi parking rates 2026
Zone I, the CBD and main commercial suburbs, is KES 300 per day for a saloon. Zone II, the outer non-automated areas, is KES 100 per day. In automated zones a saloon is KES 100 for the first hour and KES 50 for each hour after. A van or pickup in Zone I is KES 500 a day, and a lorry above 5 tons is KES 3,000. Reserved private parking is KES 275,000 a year. On-street parking is free on Sundays and public holidays. The county confirmed in November 2025 that the daily fee stays at KES 300, the reported rise to KES 520 was a policy estimate, not an approved charge.
How each Nairobi parking product is actually paid
- Off-street parking is paid when you leave, not when you arrive
- Nairobi County states that off-street payment is made at the time of exit from the car park. Dial *647#, choose Parking Services then Off-Street, and enter your plate. On the portal you enter the plate and select Checkout. This is the opposite of daily on-street parking, which you pay for up front.
- Seasonal parking runs on an invoice, not a prompt
- Seasonal parking is portal-only, there is no USSD route. You enter the plate, the parking duration and a start date, and the county generates an invoice. You then pay, select Check Payment so the system reconciles it against the bill invoice number, and download the receipt under Transaction History. It is the one Nairobi parking product that does not complete on an M-PESA prompt.
- Reserved parking covers loading zones and event bays
- The county also sells reserved parking through the portal, covering loading zones, trailer bays, PSV bays and hiring a parking bay for an event. These are applications rather than instant payments.

Check the sender before you walk away
A successful Nairobi parking payment sends you two messages: the M-PESA confirmation from your network, and a separate SMS from NRB_Revenue, the county’s own sender ID. If the NRB_Revenue message never arrives, treat the payment as unconfirmed and query it on *647# and nairobiservices.go.ke before you leave the vehicle.
If you are clamped or towed
Follow the Parking Charge Notice left on your windscreen, or call the zone number on it, and pay the penalty through *647# or the portal. The county impound yards are the General Stores Yard on Racecourse Road and the Dagoretti Yard on Ngong Road.
What if you paid the wrong county or paybill
Kenyan county parking channels are separate per county. If you drove from Kiambu into Nairobi and paid the Kiambu paybill in the Nairobi CBD, the Nairobi marshal will still clamp because their system does not see your payment.
- Stop the bleed: pay the correct county channel for where the car is parked, right now, on your phone. That is the fastest way to clear or avoid a clamp. For Nairobi, that is *647# on your registered M-PESA line.
- Show both SMS to the marshal: the wrong-county SMS (proves intent to pay) plus the correct-county SMS (proves current compliance).
- Request a refund from the wrong county: visit the county revenue office with the M-PESA SMS, your ID, and your logbook. Refund processing usually takes 14 to 30 days and is not guaranteed.
- Keep both M-PESA SMS for at least 30 days. Report incorrect info if the paybill on this page did not match what the marshal accepted.
