KCB M-PESA is the KCB savings-and-loan product built into M-PESA, alongside M-Shwari. Like M-Shwari, it usually repays itself from your next deposit, but you have three routes if you want to clear it deliberately.

Three ways to repay

From the menu. Dial *334#, choose Loans and Savings, then KCB M-PESA, then Pay Loan, enter the amount, and confirm with your PIN.

Automatic deduction. When money next lands in your M-PESA wallet, KCB M-PESA sweeps what it is owed first, and the rest credits your wallet. You do not have to do anything.

Paybill. If you want to repay from a different line or send funds specifically to the loan, KCB M-PESA uses paybill 522559 with your registered phone number as the account.

Repay step by step (menu)

  1. Dial *334# or open the M-PESA app.
  2. Choose Loans and Savings, then KCB M-PESA.
  3. Choose Pay Loan and enter the amount.
  4. Enter your M-PESA PIN and confirm.

Why timing matters

KCB M-PESA ties your limit to your repayment history and your KCB M-PESA savings balance. Repaying on time, and keeping a savings balance, both push your limit up over the following cycles. If you are CRB-listed over a KCB M-PESA default, clearing the balance and requesting a status update from KCB is what starts the removal.

Cost

There is no M-PESA transaction fee to repay from the menu or by auto-deduction. You pay the loan plus KCB's one-month facility fee, not a Pay Bill charge.
