Binance vs Luno in Kenya

By Dennis Kiptoo · Crypto hub

Binance is deeper and cheaper; Luno is simpler. Luno's clean app is friendly for a first buy. Binance's P2P marketplace is where price and depth actually live. The two do not really compete; they serve different phases of a Kenyan user's journey.

Rate and depth

Binance wins on both. Luno's instant-buy spreads are noticeably wider than Binance P2P, and Luno covers fewer coins.

Ease of first buy

Luno wins. The onboarding is smoother, and there is no P2P counterparty to think about.

Verdict

Start on Luno if you want zero friction, but plan to move to Binance P2P once you have your feet under you. Or, use Luno for tiny buys and Binance for anything meaningful.
