Best Crypto Exchange in Kenya (2026)

By Josephine Njeri · Crypto hub

There is no single best crypto exchange in Kenya, it depends on what you need. For P2P with M-PESA and the deepest liquidity, use Binance. For a simple first buy, use a local on-ramp like Yellow Card, Busha or Luno. For advanced trading, add Bybit or OKX. Independent picks, not affiliated.

For P2P and volume: Binance

Binance P2P is where Kenyan crypto liquidity lives. Best rates, deepest pool of M-PESA buyers and sellers, and the escrow protection that makes P2P work. Requires KYC and discipline.

For the easy first buy: Yellow Card, Busha, Luno

Local on-ramps with M-PESA baked in. One-flow buys, KES pricing, and no need to negotiate with another user. Rates are worse than P2P, spreads are visible. Great for a first Ksh 1,000-5,000 buy.

For advanced trading: Bybit, OKX

If you want derivatives, more coins, or lower spot fees at scale, Bybit and OKX are the second tier of exchanges Kenyans use. Bybit has clearer P2P; OKX is bigger globally but has less Kenyan traction.
