How to Pay School Fees to an Equity Bank Account
By Arnold Ochieng · School Fees Kenya hub · paybillke is an independent guide and is not affiliated with School Fees Kenya.
If your school banks with Equity, the most common way to pay is M-PESA to paybill 247247, with the account being the school's Equity collection account or its own dedicated Equity paybill, and the student reference the school gives you, usually the admission number. You can also pay from the Equity app, Equity Online, Equitel *247#, or at any Equity branch or agent.
Pay by M-PESA
- Lipa na M-PESA, then Pay Bill.
- Business number 247247, or the school's own Equity paybill if it has one.
- Account: the school's collection account and student reference as the school directs.
- Enter the amount and PIN, then confirm and keep the SMS.
The truth about Equity school codes
Unlike Co-op, Equity does not publish a single public directory of numeric school codes. Schools that bank with Equity either receive fees on the general 247247 paybill with the school's account and the student number as the reference, or they are given their own dedicated Equity paybill or till. So there is no Equity school-code list to look up, and the right move is to use exactly what the school's fee structure states. This is worth saying plainly, because parents search for an Equity school code that does not exist as a public list.
Other ways to pay
From the Equity app or Equity Online, select the school biller, enter its details and confirm. On Equitel, dial *247# and follow the Pay Bill flow. At any Equity branch or agent, pay in cash to the school account with your student's admission number as reference.
