By Arnold Ochieng · School Fees Kenya hub · paybillke is an independent guide and is not affiliated with School Fees Kenya.

If your school banks with Co-operative Bank, the most common route is M-PESA to paybill 400222, and the account is the school code and the student number joined by a hash, for example 1059#123456789, with no spaces. You can also pay at a Co-op agent, or straight from your Co-op account on the app or *667#. Paying fees into a Co-op school account is free.

Pay by M-PESA

  1. Lipa na M-PESA, then Pay Bill.
  2. Business number 400222.
  3. Account SCHOOLCODE#STUDENTNUMBER, no spaces, for example 1059#123456789.
  4. Enter the amount and PIN, then confirm. You get an SMS.

Other ways

Co-op agent. Deposit cash free of charge with the school's Co-op account number and the student's admission number, and get a paper receipt.

Co-op app or *667#. Send Money, Co-op Account, Other Co-op Accounts, enter the school account, amount, and put the student number as the reason for payment.

Get the school code

Co-op publishes a School Business Codes directory, and the bursar can confirm your code. The account format is the part people get wrong, so copy the school code and student number exactly.
