micro1 is a US company that hires experts to train and evaluate AI models. You apply for a listed opportunity, take a 20 to 40 minute interview with its AI recruiter, and, if accepted, are contracted and paid through Deel. Kenya is not on micro1's published list of countries it cannot hire from, checked 16 October 2026.
Can you work for micro1 from Kenya?
micro1 publishes a list of countries and regions where it is unable to hire residents. On 16 October 2026 that list included Afghanistan, Somalia, South Sudan, Ukraine and Ethiopia, among others, and did not include Kenya. That is the closest thing to a yes any of the large AI training platforms gave us. It is not a guarantee of work: you still have to be accepted for a specific opportunity.

- Apply for one that matches your field and experience.
- Take the AI interview. micro1 says it lasts between 20 and 40 minutes.
- If accepted, you are onboarded and contracted through Deel.
What micro1 says about payment
micro1 says contractors are paid through Deel. Its payroll policy says work from the 1st to the 15th of the month is paid around the 20th, and that payments are processed within 5 days of the pay period ending. It says you must upload all required documents on Deel or your payment may be delayed.
