CrowdGen by Appen: What It Is and How It Pays

CrowdGen is the platform Appen now uses for its crowd contributors, renamed from Appen Connect. It is the same kind of work the annotation platforms have always offered: AI training, evaluation and data tasks, free to join, paid per task or per hour. If you already know Appen, you already know CrowdGen.

Why the name changed

Appen moved its contributor community onto CrowdGen, so searches for appen login and crowdgen now lead to the same place. If you had an Appen Connect account, that history is the same platform under a new name, which is why so many Kenyan posts about Appen still apply.

How it pays, in CrowdGen's own words

CrowdGen's payments pages list several withdrawal routes: PayPal, Payoneer, Airtm, SWIFT, local bank transfer and gift cards, run through a payouts provider. CrowdGen says it works with contributors in over 200 countries.

It also says plainly that some options are not available in every country. That is the sentence that matters for a Kenyan, and it is the one nobody blogging about this platform quotes.

What we could not confirm, and will not guess

We could not confirm from CrowdGen's own published pages which of those routes is offered to a contributor registered in Kenya. That is only visible once you are signed in and looking at your own withdrawal screen.

So this page does not tell you "CrowdGen pays Kenyans by PayPal". We do not know that, and a payout route is exactly the kind of thing that is useless if it is wrong. Sign up, open the payments screen, and read what your own account offers. Then use the payout guide to get that balance to M-PESA cheaply.

The rule that has not changed

CrowdGen is free to join. Nobody legitimate sells CrowdGen or Appen accounts, and nobody charges you to be trained for it. Any fee to start, or anyone offering to sell you a verified account, is a scam and can get the real account banned.
