How to reach Absa Kenya

For bank matters, call +254 722 130120. For anything Timiza, call 0709 213000 instead, because Timiza runs its own support line and most guides do not tell you that.

Which number, for what

  • Bank accounts, cards, loans: +254 722 130120 or +254 732 130120 on mobile, +254 20 3900000 on a landline. Email absa.kenya@absa.africa.
  • Timiza, anything at all: 0709 213000 or 020 4254000. Email Timiza.Ke@absa.africa.
  • Quick questions: Abby on WhatsApp, +254 710 130000.
  • Fraud or wrongdoing: the whistleblowing line, and Absa's security centre.

The Timiza split matters because Timiza serves people who are not Absa bank customers at all. Ringing the bank about a Timiza loan means queueing for a team that handles a different product.

If you are calling about a missing payment

Have the M-PESA transaction code in front of you before you dial, plus the paybill you used, the account reference you entered, and the amount. That is what lets Absa trace it, and calling without the code usually means calling twice. Do not send a second payment while the first is being traced. Finding a branch or agent

Absa runs a locator at absabank.co.ke/find-us, which covers agent outlets as well as branches. Agents handle a lot of routine cash business and are usually closer than a branch. Absa also publishes a branch codes PDF, which is the document you need when somebody asks for your branch code for a transfer.

What still needs a branch

Less than you would think, which is the useful part:

  • Hello Money registration does not, as long as you have your debit card. Self-register on *224#.
  • Opening an Absa One account does not. Absa advertises opening online in minutes.
  • A PIN reset does not, if you can answer the account, date of birth and card questions.

Disputes, documentation, and anything requiring your physical signature still do.

A word on impostor accounts

Absa is on X as @AbsaKenya, Facebook as AbsaKenya and Instagram as absakenya. Fake support accounts imitating Kenyan banks reply to public complaints within minutes and move you to a direct message. No real bank will ask for your PIN, an OTP or a full card number in a DM. If a conversation heads that way, stop and call +254 722 130120 yourself.
