Tingg Checkout Explained

By David Wachira · Tingg hub · paybillke is an independent guide and is not affiliated with Tingg.

Tingg Checkout is a ready-made, secure payment page your customer is redirected to at the moment of paying. They pick their method, card, mobile money or bank transfer, complete the payment, and the result is returned to your system. It saves you building and securing a paying screen, and it covers the methods African customers actually use.

How it works

When a customer is ready to pay, your site or app sends them to the Tingg-hosted checkout with the amount and reference. They choose a method, authorise it, and Tingg routes the transaction to the right card switch, mobile money operator or bank, then posts the result back to your callback so you can confirm the order.

How to add it

Integrate through the Tingg developer portal, connect the checkout, set your callback URL for results, test in the sandbox, then go live. If you do not have a developer, the payment link and payment page options give you a checkout without any code.

What it costs

Tingg's Kenya pricing is 1% for mobile money, 2% for mobile money outside Kenya, and 2.8% for cards. So a checkout paid by M-PESA costs 1%, while a Visa or Mastercard payment costs 2.8%. Confirm current rates with Tingg for your volume.
