KAPS parking in Kenya: how to pay and where it runs
KAPS (Kenya Airports Parking Services) runs parking at over 50 sites in Kenya, from JKIA and the main airports to malls and hospitals. You pay by M-PESA on USSD *486#, on the KAPS app, or with a KAPS A-Card. Dial *486#, pick your site, enter your ticket number or number plate, confirm and pay with your M-PESA PIN. JKIA has its own shortcut, *486*12#. Full airport rates and the site list are below.
How to pay KAPS parking
- By M-PESA: dial *486#, choose the site, enter your ticket or plate, confirm the amount, enter your PIN, and keep the confirmation until the boom lifts.
- By app: the KAPS app lets you load funds and pay from your phone.
- By A-Card: a prepaid card you top up and tap, best for people who park at KAPS sites often.
Many KAPS sites are moving to number-plate recognition (ANPR), so at those you may be charged by plate without a paper ticket.
