A salon or barbershop wants a till because customer payments are free, and you can add per-stylist operators without sharing your PIN. Each stylist gets their own operator role so tips and takings are traceable per chair.
Setup
Sole trader: ID, KRA PIN, Single Business Permit, bank confirmation, Safaricom line. Apply, activate on *234#, change the start PIN.
Per-stylist operators
In the app, add each stylist as an assistant operator with their own PIN. Assistants can view but not export statements, so you keep control while giving staff independence.
Cost
Customer pays nothing. Merchant collections up to KES 500 free; then 0.55% capped at KES 200. Typical salon ticket sizes (KES 200-3,000) sit in a low-cost band.
