M-PESA Till Charges 2026 (Buy Goods Fees)
By James Mwangi · M-PESA Till hub
For your customers, paying Buy Goods is free on every amount from KES 20 to 250,000. For you the merchant, from 7 August 2026, collections up to KES 500 are free, then you pay 0.55% of the transaction, capped at KES 200. Withdrawals are charged separately.
Customer cost
Free. Safaricom waived customer Buy Goods fees in 2018 and they remain free at every till payment from KES 20 to KES 250,000. This is the till's biggest advantage at the point of sale.
Merchant collection fee (from 7 August 2026)
Collections up to KES 500 are free. From KES 501 upward, you pay 0.55% of the transaction, capped at KES 200 per transaction (Safaricom M-PESA Charges page, updated 4 August 2026). Confirm the current band table on safaricom.co.ke since Safaricom revises it.
Withdrawing from the till
Separate from the collection fee. Agent withdrawals run about KES 11 to 309 for KES 50 to 250,000. ATM withdrawals about KES 35 to 203 for KES 200 to 35,000. Settle to your bank in fewer, larger transfers to keep costs down.
