How to buy Minecoins with M-PESA

Minecoins bought inside the Android version of Minecraft are a Google Play in-app purchase, so you can pay with M-PESA Xpress billing. Set M-PESA up once in the Play Store, then buy Minecoins in the game and approve the PIN push.

Step by step

  1. Set up M-PESA Xpress billing in the Play Store if you have not already.
  2. Open Minecraft on the Android device, signed in to the Microsoft account you play on.
  3. Go to the in-game store and choose a Minecoins pack.
  4. Select M-PESA Xpress at checkout and approve the PIN push.

The account trap, again

Minecoins attach to the Microsoft account signed in to Minecraft, not to the phone and not to the M-PESA number that paid. On a shared family phone, check who is signed in before buying. Nobody can move them afterwards.

Where Minecoins do not work

Minecoins are for the Bedrock family of Minecraft, which is the Android, console and Windows-store version. They do nothing in Java Edition, which has no in-game coin currency of that kind. If you bought coins and cannot see them, check which edition you are actually playing.
