How to pay for Google Play with M-PESA

Google Play accepts M-PESA Xpress billing in Kenya. It is offered to M-PESA registered customers with a Google account and an Android device. You register the payment method once inside the Play Store, and after that every paid app, game or in-app purchase can be charged straight to M-PESA with a PIN push.
Setting it up
- Open the Play Store on your Android device.
- Tap the home icon, then account.
- Go to payments methods.
- Select M-PESA Xpress billing.
- Register your personal details and save.
How paying works after that
- Pick the app, game or in-app item and choose M-PESA Xpress as the payment option.
- A confirmation window shows the amount. Tap buy.
- A push notification asks for your M-PESA PIN.
- Funds leave your M-PESA and the purchase completes. An app starts installing immediately.

Your number pairs automatically. The first time you buy, you set up a payment profile and your mobile number is linked.
You can keep a card too. Having a card on the Google account does not stop you adding M-PESA.
More than one Google account per number is allowed.
Dual SIM needs care. Put the Safaricom line on SIM one and disable twin SIM functionality.
Roaming works if you have activated roaming and Safaricom has an agreement in that country.
Changing your number auto-syncs the new one.
