No M-PESA PIN prompt on Google Play, and other failures

If you tap buy and no M-PESA PIN prompt arrives, Safaricom’s own instruction is to update your SIM card by dialling *234*1*6#, then try the purchase again. That single step fixes the most common failure.
No PIN push arrives
Payment went through but nothing installed
You want your money back
Google Play allows a refund on an app or game within 48 hours of purchase. Search for the app, tap the refund icon, and the app uninstalls. You get a refund confirmation from M-PESA.
Two limits Safaricom states plainly: you can only return a given app once, and if you buy it again you cannot refund it again. A refund also removes your access to the item.
The Robux went to the wrong account
Where this comes from
Two primary sources carry this page. Safaricom’s own Google Play and M-PESA FAQ documents M-PESA Xpress billing, and Apple’s own payment methods page for Kenya lists what an Apple Account can use here. Both were read on 29 September 2026. We publish no reseller number on any page in this cluster, and we explain why on the gift cards page.
