Equity Agency Banking: Bank at an Equity Agent
By Arnold Ochieng · Equity Bank Kenya hub · paybillke is an independent guide and is not affiliated with Equity Bank Kenya.
Equity Agency Banking puts basic banking in the neighbourhood shop. At an Equity Agent you deposit and withdraw cash, pay bills, buy airtime and open accounts, without a branch, and agents far outnumber branches so there is usually one close. Carry your ID and know your account or Equitel number, use only a branded Equity Agent, and never share your PIN.
What you can do
Deposit and withdraw cash, pay bills and buy airtime, open a new account, and check your balance. Cash-in is typically free for the customer, cash-out follows Equity's tariff.
Become an Equity Agent
Businesses can apply to become an Equity Agent and earn commission on customer transactions. Approach any Equity branch with your business registration, KRA PIN, ID and a suitable premises.
