Betika keeps entry low. Deposits go in via paybill 290290 with your phone number as the account, or through the app and *644#. It sets a low minimum deposit and a low minimum bet, so you can start small — but confirm the exact current minimums in the app since operators adjust them.
The charges
Depositing by M-PESA carries the standard M-PESA paybill charge for the amount, which Betika does not set. Kenyan law applies an excise duty on stakes and a withholding tax on winnings, deducted automatically, so your payout is net of tax. There is no separate Betika fee to place a bet beyond your stake.
