Absa Till Number: Bank Uses a Paybill
By James Mwangi · M-PESA Till hub
Absa Bank Kenya does not have a Buy Goods till, because it is a bank. Deposits from M-PESA to Absa use a paybill, and the account is your Absa account number. Confirm the current paybill via Absa Kenya's website or the Timiza / Absa app before making a large transfer.
How to move M-PESA to Absa
M-PESA > Lipa na M-PESA > Pay Bill > enter Absa's paybill (confirm in the Absa app) > account = your Absa account number > amount > PIN > confirm. Or use PesaLink from your Absa app to move money the other way.
Why the till confusion
"Bank till number" is a common search but every bank uses a paybill so the account number can match the money to your account. A Buy Goods till has no account field, which does not work for banking.
Confirm the number
Absa updates its paybill occasionally. Always confirm inside the Absa or Timiza app, or on absa.co.ke, before a large transfer. Third-party lists can be out of date.
