Is SasaPay Safe and Legit?
By David Wachira · SasaPay hub · paybillke is an independent guide and is not affiliated with SasaPay.
SasaPay is a genuine, regulated Kenyan payment service, not a scheme. It is a product of ViewTech Limited, which the Central Bank of Kenya authorised as a Payment Service Provider in October 2021 under the National Payment System Act. That licence is the same regulatory footing the big wallets sit on.
How your money is protected
Money you hold in SasaPay is kept by an independent trustee, which keeps customer funds separate from the company. SasaPay also runs know your customer and anti money laundering checks, can suspend an account for suspicious activity while it investigates, and reports to the Central Bank as the law requires. Dormant accounts and untraceable balances are handled under the Unclaimed Financial Assets Act.
How to spot genuine SasaPay contact
Real SasaPay messages come from the branded sender ID Sasa Pay, and SasaPay will never ask for your PIN on a call or a message. Treat any request for your PIN, or any prize that asks you to pay a fee first, as a scam.
What you are responsible for
Keep your PIN secret, report a lost phone or SIM immediately, and confirm recipient details before sending, because SasaPay will not be liable for losses from a shared PIN or a wrong number you entered.
