FAQ
Is Momentum Credit licensed by CBK?
Yes. Momentum Credit is licensed as a Digital Credit Provider (DCP) by the Central Bank of Kenya. The public DCP register is at centralbank.go.ke/digital-credit-providers. Momentum is not a bank and is not on the CBK PSP list.
What do I need to apply for a Momentum Credit logbook loan?
Original vehicle logbook, national ID, KRA PIN, three to six months of bank or M-PESA statements, one recent utility bill and two guarantors. Momentum then arranges a valuation of your vehicle before making a written offer.
What happens if I default on a Momentum Credit loan?
Missed instalments trigger written reminders and then a formal notice under the Chattels Transfer Act before enforcement. Momentum is bound by the CBK Digital Credit Providers code of conduct, which requires written notice and a reasonable cure window before repossession. Arrears also flow to the credit reference bureaus.
Can I still drive my car during a Momentum Credit logbook loan?
Yes. Momentum takes ownership of the logbook as security but the vehicle remains in your possession and daily use throughout the loan. On final settlement the logbook is transferred back to you.
How much can I borrow with a Momentum Credit logbook loan?
Up to KES 4,000,000 depending on the professional valuation of your vehicle. Typical loan-to-value is 40 to 60 percent of the valuation. Older vehicles get lower ratios.
How fast is Momentum Credit disbursement?
Momentum advertises approval and disbursement within 16 hours of a complete file and passed valuation. In practice, expect one to two working days after your first branch visit.
What other products does Momentum offer?
