KCB Accounts and Cards

By Arnold Ochieng · KCB Bank Kenya hub · paybillke is an independent guide and is not affiliated with KCB Bank Kenya.

KCB has accounts for every stage, from a student starting out to a saver building a goal, and a full card range from debit to premium credit. Here is how to pick.

Everyday and salary accounts

Bankika transactional account for young people, the current account, the Jiinue salary account, KCB M-Benki mobile account, Mapato account, the student account, and the Cub account for children.

Savings accounts

Simba savings, the personal goal savings account, the Leo account, and the M-PESA-linked fixed savings and target savings accounts for saving straight from mobile money, both paying around 6.3% per annum.

Cards

Debit cards including KCB debit, Visa signature and infinite debit, and a Mastercard world debit. Credit cards from gold and platinum up to Visa signature, world elite and infinite. Prepaid cards including Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, multicurrency and the Carrefour prepaid card.

How to choose

Pick the account by how you earn and save, and the card by how you spend. A saver wants a goal or target savings account, a salaried worker wants the salary account and a credit card that matches their spend, and a traveller wants the multicurrency or a premium card.
