Gambling is for adults aged 18+ only.

Only play with money you can afford to lose. paybillke lists operators that hold a current GRA licence at the time of verification. Confirm on gra.go.ke before depositing. If gambling is becoming a problem, support is available. Call the GRA helpline on 0800 222 333.

If Shabiki is down today, check downdetector.com or @ShabikiKE on X for outage reports. Common causes: Safaricom M-PESA downtime, Shabiki platform maintenance, or peak-load slowdowns.

Likely causes, in order of frequency

What still works during an M-PESA outage

If M-PESA is down but Shabiki itself is up, you can still log in and browse. You cannot deposit or withdraw until Safaricom restores M-PESA. Placing bets from an existing wallet balance still works if Shabiki's own systems are healthy.

What still works during Shabiki maintenance

During a scheduled Shabiki maintenance window, the site may return a maintenance banner and the wallet actions (deposit, withdraw, bet placement) may be disabled. Historical bets and settled markets remain visible in your account. Nothing you need to act on, wait for the window to close, usually 30 to 120 minutes.

When to contact Shabiki support

Escalate only after: (a) downdetector shows no outage spike, (b) @ShabikiKE has no acknowledgement, (c) M-PESA works on *234#. That combination points to an account-specific issue rather than a platform outage. Contact via the in-app live chat with:

  • Your registered Safaricom number.
  • The exact symptom (screenshot helps).
  • The M-PESA transaction code (if it is a deposit or withdrawal issue).
  • What you have already tried.

FAQ

How do I know if Shabiki is down or if it is just me?

Two quick checks: (1) load downdetector.com on your phone data (not WiFi) and search for Shabiki; a spike in reports in the last 60 minutes means it is a widespread issue. (2) Open @ShabikiKE on X and check for a pinned or top-of-timeline acknowledgement. If both are quiet and only your account has the issue, work through the six-cause troubleshooting flow on our Shabiki login help guide.

Shabiki loads but I cannot deposit. Is that a Safaricom or a Shabiki issue?

Test M-PESA first: dial *234# on your Safaricom line. If M-PESA errors out or fails to load, that is a Safaricom-side outage and Shabiki deposits will remain blocked until it clears. If *234# works but Shabiki deposits fail, it is Shabiki's payment integration; wait and retry, or contact Shabiki live chat.

Is Shabiki ever down for scheduled maintenance?

Yes. Betting operators typically run maintenance windows in early morning (roughly 2AM to 4AM EAT) on Sunday or Monday. Deposits and withdrawals may pause during that window even if the site loads. Shabiki usually posts an @ShabikiKE notice ahead of a planned window.

Shabiki is slow but not fully down. What is happening?

Peak periods (evenings, weekend afternoons, English Premier League kick-off, major jackpot draws) push load. If Shabiki is slow but not returning errors, wait for the peak to pass. If it is returning 5xx errors, it is a full outage.

I made a deposit and the wallet shows nothing. Is Shabiki down?

Not necessarily. A missing deposit is usually a reconciliation delay (clears in under 5 minutes) or a paid-to-the-wrong-paybill event (M-PESA SMS shows a recipient name other than Shabiki's operator name). The M-PESA SMS is the ground truth: match the recipient name before escalating.

I withdrew and the M-PESA SMS never arrived. Is Shabiki down?

Usually a KYC block or an M-PESA outage rather than a Shabiki outage. Check M-PESA with *234#. Check KYC status at shabiki.com, Account, Verification. If both are clear, escalate to Shabiki live chat with the in-app withdrawal reference number.
