2026 status changes
Schedule III of the SASRA 2026 notice lists five SACCOs on conditionally restricted, credit-only licences (they cannot take new deposits). Schedule IV lists one SACCO whose licence was revoked after it wound up and merged its membership into another during 2025. Schedule V lists one non-deposit SACCO whose authorisation expired and was revoked. Confirm the specific names against the SASRA schedules; this is a live regulator list and changes are annual.
Non-deposit-taking SACCOs (Schedule II, 176)
The non-deposit-taking SACCOs authorised for 2026 are mostly employer and community schemes (examples include 3N, Accel, ACK Kihara, Adventist, AIBK, Airlink, Alarms, AMREF, Appollosure, Ballot, Balozi, Bands, Banki Kuu, Barabara, BAT, Besco, Biblia, Bunge, CDF, CFAO, CIC, Cotts, Dudu, Energy, Equity, Exams, Family, HELB, Irrigation, Java, KEMRI, Kanisa, Ketepa, Kinga, London, PCEA, Reli, Total, Ubora and many more).
