Pesapal POS: Take M-Pesa and Card on One Machine

By David Wachira · Pesapal hub · paybillke is an independent guide and is not affiliated with Pesapal.

The Pesapal point-of-sale machine lets a shop accept M-Pesa and card on a single device, which removes the hassle of separate systems for each. It is aimed at retailers, restaurants and any counter that wants one clean way to take payment.

What it does

It accepts M-Pesa and card together, processes NFC payments such as Google Pay and Fitbit Pay, and streamlines your M-Pesa Till, Paybill and Xpress collections while issuing M-Pesa receipts and giving you control over collections. It integrates with point-of-sale systems including Oracle Micros, Compulynx and Microsoft, so it fits into an existing setup.

Cards, including tourists

With Pesapal's 2026 partnership with UnionPay International, the POS network also accepts UnionPay cards, on top of Visa and Mastercard. For hospitality and retail in tourist areas, that widens who can pay you.

Why one machine matters

Handling M-Pesa on the phone and card on a separate terminal is messy and error-prone at the till. One device that does both, issues receipts, and reconciles into your systems speeds up the queue and tightens your books.
