Home Fibre is the one Safaricom bill people most often pay to the wrong field. The router lives at your house behind a Safaricom line, so it feels natural to type that phone number into the account box. It is not the account. Your Home Fibre account number is a separate 10 to 12 digit reference that came in your installation SMS and is printed on your contract. Type that, and the payment lands on your subscription. Type the phone number, and the money sits in Safaricom suspense until someone reconciles it by hand.
The verified paybill
Safaricom Home Fibre is paybill 150501, confirmed against Safaricom Care and the Home Fibre product page. The account is your Home Fibre account number. This paybill is stable and rarely changes. What changes month to month is nothing on your side at all, the account number stays the same for the life of your connection.
Pay Home Fibre step by step
- Open the M-PESA app, or dial *334#, or use Lipa na M-PESA on the SIM Toolkit.
- Select Lipa na M-PESA, then Pay Bill.
- Business number: 150501.
- Account number: your Home Fibre account number (from the installation SMS or the contract). No spaces, no hyphens.
- Enter the amount for your plan.
- Enter your M-PESA PIN and confirm.
You get an M-PESA SMS with a transaction code straight away. Keep it. That 10 character code is the only proof of payment that matters if anything needs fixing later.
What each plan costs
Home Fibre plans in 2026 run from KES 3,500 a month for the 15 Mbps entry tier up to about KES 12,000 for 250 Mbps. Bills fall due on the 1st of the month and Safaricom expects payment by the 15th. Miss the end of the month and the line disconnects automatically. There is no Home Fibre surcharge on top of M-PESA, so what the fee calculator shows is what you pay.
| If you pay | M-PESA fee | Total off your wallet |
|---|---|---|
| KES 3,500 | KES 34 | KES 3,534 |
| KES 6,000 | KES 34 | KES 6,034 |
| KES 12,000 | KES 48 | KES 12,048 |
Reconnection timing
If you paid because the line was cut for non-payment, reconnection is usually automatic within 30 minutes of the M-PESA confirmation. You do not need to call anyone in the normal case. The router re-authenticates against Safaricom once the payment posts.
Paid the wrong account number
This is the common failure. Your money reached Safaricom but sits against the wrong Home Fibre account or in suspense.
- Call 100 (free from a Safaricom line) with your M-PESA transaction code and both the account number you used and the correct one.
- Safaricom can move Home Fibre payments between accounts in the same registered name, usually within 48 hours.
- If the two accounts are in different names, the receiving account holder has to consent to the transfer.
- Do not pay again while this is in progress. A second payment just adds a second reconciliation job.
