Login security, what to keep in mind

Enable 2FA under My Account, Security. Adds an OTP to every login.
Do not reuse your M-PESA PIN. If one leaks, the other goes too.
Real Betika SMS uses sender ID BETIKA. Anything from a phone number claiming to be Betika, or with a non-betika.com link, is a phishing attempt.
Betika support will never ask for your PIN. Hang up if a caller does.
Log out on shared devices. Never just close the tab.

What if I forget my Betika PIN?

Fastest path is USSD. Dial *644# on your Safaricom line, choose My Account, then Forgot PIN. A new PIN arrives by SMS within 60 seconds. Alternatively use the Forgot PIN link on betika.com/login; it also sends a fresh PIN by SMS.

Can I log in to Betika from a browser?

Yes. Go to betika.com/login on any browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox), enter your Safaricom number and 4-digit PIN, tap Login. The mobile web at m.betika.com is the same account and works on any smartphone or feature phone with a browser.

Do I need the Betika app to log in?

No. Betika is fully accessible via three channels: the Android app (from betika.com, not Google Play, which removed Kenyan gambling apps in 2019), the mobile web at m.betika.com, and USSD at *644#. Pick whichever suits your device.

Why is my Betika account locked out?

Three wrong PINs in a row triggers a 30-minute soft lock. You do not need to wait. Use Forgot PIN via *644# or betika.com/login; the PIN reset bypasses the lock immediately. If lockouts repeat, someone else may have your credentials, so change your PIN and enable 2FA under My Account, Security.

Does Betika charge to log in?

No. Login itself is free on all channels. USSD sessions on *644# are free on Safaricom. Standard data rates apply for the app and browser. Deposits attract the M-PESA paybill tariff plus the 5% Finance Act 2025 deposit excise; those are separate from the login flow.
