Pay Kenya Airways with M-PESA: paybill 777777
By Aisha Hassan
Kenya Airways paybill is 777777, and the account field is your booking reference. That second half is where the money goes missing. A reference typed wrong, or a phone number typed in its place, does not bounce back to you: it sits in suspense against no ticket, and you find out at the airport. Type the reference exactly as it appears on your itinerary, then keep the M-PESA SMS until the e-ticket arrives.
- Paybill
- 777777
- Account field
- Your Kenya Airways booking reference
The booking reference (also called a PNR) is the six-character code on your itinerary email and on the payment screen at kenya-airways.com. It mixes letters and digits, for example ABC123.
The flow, in the order the phone asks for it
- Get your booking reference first. Book at kenya-airways.com, in the app, or through the KQ office, and hold the reference before you open M-PESA.
- On M-PESA choose Lipa na M-PESA, then Pay Bill.
- Business number: 777777.
- Account: your booking reference. Not your phone number. Not your ID. Not the ticket number.
- Enter the fare amount exactly as quoted, then your PIN.
- Read the confirmation SMS before you close it. The recipient name should be Kenya Airways. Keep the 10-character M-PESA code.

Frequently asked
What is the Kenya Airways paybill number?
777777. The account field is your booking reference.
Can I use my phone number as the account?
No. Kenya Airways matches the payment to a booking by its reference. A phone number in that field leaves the payment unmatched.
How long does the e-ticket take?
Usually under five minutes. After thirty, call KQ with your M-PESA code and booking reference rather than paying again.
Is there a separate paybill for Asante or Msafiri?
Our directory carries 777777 for both the main ticket payment and the Asante (Msafiri) entry. If you have been given a different number by Kenya Airways, tell us through the report link and we will check it.
