The official OdiBets M-PESA paybill is 290680. Deposits via this paybill normally credit your OdiBets wallet within 30 seconds of M-PESA confirming. When that does not happen, the cause is almost always one of five things, and the recovery path depends on which. This guide covers the recipient-name check that diagnoses the issue in 10 seconds, the scam paybill variants pretending to be OdiBets, the OdiBets support escalation that recovers genuine deposits, and the M-PESA reversal flow when the funds went to a scammer.
Three checks before you escalate
- Did the M-PESA SMS arrive with a 10-character transaction code? If yes (e.g.
RG7HX9BC2K), the payment is accepted by Safaricom. If no SMS after 5 minutes, the payment failed and your wallet was not debited. Retry. - Does the SMS recipient name read ODIBETS? That is the legitimate recipient of paybill 290680. If the recipient is any other business or a personal name, you paid a scam paybill. Ask Safaricom for a reversal (see below).
- Was the account field correct? Your OdiBets-registered Safaricom phone number, no spaces, no plus sign, no country code. The deposit credits to the OdiBets wallet whose phone number was in the account field.
If the recipient is ODIBETS, the recovery
Your money reached OdiBets but the wallet has not credited yet. Wait the full 30 minutes first, reconciliation can lag during peak betting windows. After 30 minutes with the correct recipient name in your M-PESA SMS, contact OdiBets support via the channels listed on the verified OdiBets hub with:
- Your M-PESA transaction code (the 10-character string starting with letters)
- The exact deposit amount
- Your OdiBets-registered Safaricom phone number
- The date and time of the deposit
Genuine deposits with the correct recipient name almost always get re-allocated to the wallet within 24 hours of contacting support with the M-PESA transaction code.
If the recipient is NOT ODIBETS, the reversal
You paid a scam paybill. Scammers register lookalike paybills and circulate them via WhatsApp, TikTok, and SMS, pretending to be OdiBets. The money never reached OdiBets, and OdiBets cannot recover it for you, because the payment was never theirs to receive. The only recovery path is a reversal through Safaricom.
Call Safaricom customer care on 100 (200 on postpay) with the M-PESA transaction code and ask for a reversal. Safaricom lists the 456 self-reversal for person-to-person sends within 24 hours, so it does not cover a paybill. Safaricom contacts the recipient for consent first. Read the full reversal flow at how to reverse an M-PESA transaction. Safaricom publishes no timeline for a paybill reversal and does not promise one: the recipient has to agree.
When to escalate to the regulator
If OdiBets support refuses to re-allocate a deposit that reached them (recipient name confirmed as ODIBETS) after 5+ business days, file a complaint with the Gambling Regulatory Authority at gra.go.ke. The GRA actively enforces deposit and payout obligations on licensed operators and has revoked licences for chronic failures. Include the M-PESA transaction code, your OdiBets account phone number, the support ticket reference, and the timeline.
Frequently asked questions
What is the official OdiBets M-PESA paybill?
The official OdiBets M-PESA paybill is 290680. Account number is your OdiBets-registered Safaricom phone number, no spaces, no plus sign. Verified against the OdiBets support pages and live M-PESA testing in June 2026.
How long should a OdiBets deposit take to reflect in my wallet?
Neither Safaricom nor OdiBets publishes a set time. If the deposit has not shown 30 minutes after an M-PESA SMS that names the correct recipient (ODIBETS), contact OdiBets support with the transaction code.
My M-PESA SMS shows a different recipient name. What happened?
You paid a scam paybill pretending to be OdiBets. Scammers register paybills with numbers visually similar to the real one and circulate them on WhatsApp, TikTok, and SMS. Call Safaricom on 100 with the M-PESA code to ask for a reversal and to report the scam paybill. The 456 self-reversal does not cover paybills. The real OdiBets paybill is 290680 and the M-PESA recipient name reads ODIBETS.
Can I deposit to OdiBets from Airtel Money or T-Kash?
We could not confirm it. OdiBets's own site does not say that paybill 290680 takes payments from Airtel Money or T-Kash, or what recipient name you would see. Deposit from M-PESA, or use a payment option shown on OdiBets's own deposit page.
How do I avoid scam OdiBets paybills?
Only use paybill 290680. Save it as a contact in your phone with a clear label. Never trust paybills sent via WhatsApp or TikTok unless they exactly match 290680. Verify on the OdiBets app, the official OdiBets website, or our verified OdiBets hub before using any unfamiliar paybill number.
