Tell us your situation. We tell you which Kenyan digital lenders you're likely to qualify with — KCB M-PESA, M-Shwari, Fuliza, Tala, Branch, and Hustler Fund.
KCB M-PESA
EligibleClean CRB and good M-PESA tenure — strong eligibility for KCB M-PESA loans.
M-Shwari (NCBA)
EligibleM-Shwari savings history + clean CRB = strong eligibility.
Fuliza (M-PESA overdraft)
EligibleFuliza is broadly available to active M-PESA users. Limit grows with use.
Hustler Fund
EligibleGovernment-backed Hustler Fund is designed for financial inclusion. Most lenient on CRB status.
Tala
EligibleActive income + clean CRB makes you eligible for Tala loans.
Branch
EligibleBranch eligibility is comparable to Tala. Active M-PESA tenure required.
This is a heuristic pre-check, not a guarantee. Actual eligibility depends on the lender's real-time scoring at application time. We don't store your inputs.
How the checker scores eligibility
Each Kenyan digital lender has its own scoring model, but the inputs are surprisingly similar:
- CRB status. Active negative listings block most regulated lenders. Hustler Fund is the most lenient.
- M-PESA tenure. Most lenders want at least 6 months of M-PESA history, ideally 2+ years.
- M-PESA cash flow. Active inflows and outflows score well. A dormant M-PESA account scores poorly.
- Repayment history. Past loans repaid on time build your limit. One late repayment can shrink your limit for months.
- Savings history. M-Shwari specifically requires you to have used the savings product before becoming loan-eligible.
Important notes
The checker is a heuristic pre-screen, not a guaranteed result. Actual eligibility is determined by the lender's real-time credit scoring when you apply. The checker:
- Doesn't access your CRB record — you tell us your status
- Doesn't see your M-PESA history — you tell us your tenure
- Doesn't store any input — your selections are discarded when you leave the page
- Doesn't share data with the lenders — applying is a separate step
If you're CRB-listed
Most regulated lenders block you while you're actively listed. Hustler Fund is the most accessible alternative, plus SACCOs (which lend on member savings, not CRB status). Read our full guide on borrowing when CRB-listed for the legitimate paths to clearing your status.
